Why I do this work
“Hello! I am Maria, a creative, caring, and patient nanny living in Tokyo. Originally from Argentina, I bring a warm heart and a passion for creative activities, like painting, drawing, origami, and cooking, to every child I care for. I speak native Spanish, fluent English, and basic Japanese, which helps me connect easily with children and navigate our surroundings smoothly. I am naturally empathetic, responsible, and adaptable, always making sure children feel safe and happy.”
Catalina's background
Over my year of childcare experience in Argentina, I worked in home babysitting settings caring for children aged 3 to 8 years old. My primary role was regularly caring for an 8-year-old girl over the course of a year, where I built a close, trusting relationship with her and her family. I also provided weekend and evening babysitting for 5- and 7-year-olds, as well as caring for my young cousins aged 3 and 5. My duties included keeping the children comfortable and safe, taking them on walks, and engaging them in creative play like drawing, painting, origami, and cooking. With a patient, attentive, and easygoing temperament, I easily adapt to different ages and routines to make sure every child feels happy and cared for.
