Why I do this work
“Hi, I’m Elena! I am an English instructor based in Tokyo, where I teach children aged 3 to 12 through engaging, interactive, and confidence-building lessons. My international background has shaped me into a creative, adaptable, and nurturing caregiver who enjoys supporting children as they grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence. I especially love incorporating artistic and hands-on activities such as painting, coloring, crafts, and board games, making each day both fun and meaningful for the children I work with. I look forward to supporting your family and caring for your little ones while you enjoy your time in Japan.”
Elena's background
have a strong childcare background as an au pair since the age of 20, with experience living and working in Dublin, Sweden, and Yokohama. I have cared for children in multicultural households, including a 2-year-old boy and a newborn baby in a German host family, supporting their daily routines, emotional needs, and early development. Through my international childcare experience, I have developed strong skills in creating structured yet fun learning environments, adapting to each child’s personality and needs, and providing attentive, nurturing care that helps children feel secure, supported, and engaged.
