Meet Mayumi
A short hello from Mayumi before you meet.
Why I do this work
“Hi, my name is Mayumi. I am a licensed Nursery and Kindergarten teacher with extensive experience working with children across different age groups. I have also worked as a babysitter for seven years, supporting families with attentive, warm, and responsible childcare. I always aim to create a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment where children feel secure, happy, and encouraged to learn and grow. I look forward to the opportunity to support your family and care for your children during your time in Japan.”
Mayumi's background
I have a strong and diverse childcare background, including one year at a Japanese kindergarten in the United States, one year at a hoikuen (daycare center) caring for children aged 0–6, and four years at a Japanese kindergarten working with children aged 3–6. I also spent one year as an au pair in Amsterdam and have many years of babysitting experience with children aged 6 months to 12 years. I enjoy engaging children through crafts, eurhythmics, and gymnastics instruction, and I bring both structure and creativity to ensure children are supported in their development while having fun.
