Why I do this work
“Hi there! I’m Meli, an international student living in New Taipei with over four years of loving childcare experience. As someone who speaks five languages, including English, French, and Haitian Creole, I love incorporating gentle language learning, creative arts and crafts, storytelling, and engaging games into your little ones' daily routines. My priority is always to build a safe, warm, and nurturing space where children feel confident, happy, and truly cared for.”
Meli's background
Over my four years of childcare experience, I have cared for young children in both private homes and educational settings. In my home country, I spent two years caring for a 6-year-old girl. During my time in the Dominican Republic, I looked after a 3-year-old boy for one year. My nanny duties focused on fostering emotional and social growth, guiding positive discipline, planning creative play, and keeping children safe and engaged. I bring a warm, highly adaptable, and empathetic approach to my care, adjusting easily to each child's individual personality and needs. I am currently based in New Taipei, where I work in cram schools and provide private language tutoring for children, specializing in English and French instruction. In these roles, I assist with homework, lead interactive educational activities, and help children build self-confidence in a supportive environment. I also place a strong value on clear, thoughtful communication with parents to ensure you always feel reassuringly connected to your child's day.
