Why I do this work
“Hello! I’m Miranda, a mom originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, now living here in Osaka. With six years of professional childcare experience—plus the joy of raising my own 15-year-old son—I understand deeply what children need to feel secure, nurtured, and happy when away from home. My background includes teaching in nurseries and schools, along with hands-on nannying across the US and Cambodia. Holding a Special Needs Education degree and TEFL certification, I love helping little ones thrive.”

Over the past six years, my childcare journey has taken me through a variety of settings, including special needs daycares, nurseries, schools, and private family homes across the United States and Cambodia. From 2017 to 2020, I worked in a special needs daycare and also spent three years providing dedicated, one-on-one care for an eight-year-old non-verbal child with autism. Through these specialized roles and raising my own son, I have cultivated a patient, gentle, and deeply responsive caregiving temperament. Whether coordinating daily routines, supporting learning with my special education background, or taking children on fun outings to the beach and mall, I focus on creating a safe and engaging environment. I communicate in native English and conversational ASL, and I am skilled at adapting to each child's unique communication style and needs. This ensures they feel completely supported, confident, and cared for during your travels.
